Chromatic Wednesdays is a monthly interdisciplinary event series based in Berlin, organized by visual artist and filmmaker Emre Birişmen and sound artist Melih Sarıgöl. The series brings together various artistic practices, including performance, sound, moving image, and panel discussions, in thematically structured programs at different venues across the city.

Chromatic Wednesdays, which previously centered around the Apartment Project space in Neukölln, will transition to a mobile and decentralized structure for its upcoming fourth and fifth seasons. This shift aims to encourage stronger collaborations, emphasize site-specific thinking, and build new connections that reflect the social and cultural fabric of Berlin.

B3NJO (DJ set)

Looking back at 23 wonderful episodes full of creativity and diversity, the team of Chromatic Wednesdays invited the audience to come together one last time in 2023 for modular, audiovisual and DJ performances by Gina Lo, bianyachichi & sailormenx, B3NJO and a special guest at Arkaoda Bar.

Gina Lo is a sound artist, field recordist and performer based in Berlin. Gina’s work delves into the interrelation between environment, ambiance, human and non-human through live performances and spatial sound installations. Using a blend of electroacoustic instrumentation, field recordings, abstract vocals and custom-designed synthesizers, Gina’s improvisational live sets focus on an ever-evolving sonic experience emphasizing attentive listening and animism as a form of expression.

BianBian (bianyachichi) is a versatile media artist, music producer, DJ, and co-founder of the AN(8)X, NO.E.ZA collective from Hangzhou and based in Berlin. Specializing in audiovisual performances and sound art since 2015, he blends human-machine interactions with natural inspirations. His work in the Berlin underground club scene influences his experimental sound compositions and live coding with Supercollider, creating unique soundscapes and heavy bass music. As a key figure in the AN(8)X collective, he fosters transcultural collaborations and celebrates Asian heritage, shaping the audiovisual culture in Berlin and beyond, including mixes featured on radio stations.

sailormenx is a Berlin-based digital artist and co-founder of the AN(8)X 愛你八遍collective. She creates her works with game engines to describe the formation of her spiritual world with 3D visuals. Exploration and adventure in the virtual world emerge with a strong sense of the unknown to imagine a neo romantic future. She built control systems to mediate the relationship between sound, lights and motion tracking in her performances. She has realized audiovisual performances in venues in Europe and Asia, including CTM festival Vorspiel Berlin, Silent Green, ACUD MACHT NEU and Centre Pompidou x West Bund Museum Project Shanghai.

B3NJO, hailing from Khon Kaen, Thailand, now based in Berlin, combines a diverse range of music, including Lo-fi Electronica, Experimental Beats, Dubstep and Grime to express her views on life, femininity and humanity. With her eclectic mix, she aims to transport listeners into a state of bliss. Having performed at events in East Asia and Europe, including HKW and Panke in Berlin and Modem Festival in Croatia, B3NJO has shared stages with artists like Dengue Dengue Dengue and Kutmah. She was featured in a special mix for Muqata’a Invites on Root Radio, showcasing her unique style and commitment to revolutionary global music.
