The event opens with the performance “I was better until I changed”, which oscillates between acceptance and resistance. Throughout the performance, masks appear as protective layers formed around a wound. At times, the two performers move through shifting reflections of Jung’s anima and animus, embodying selves that emerge, disappear, and return transformed. The performance leaves the following question open: when we speak of healing, what kind of loss are we also accepting?

The second performance “SPILL: the well”, which examines the dissolution of boundaries, will wrap up the theme “Healing”. Within this leaky state, bodily fluids are conceived as agents of rupture. By refusing containment and producing contamination across bodily and social boundaries, they become carriers of pleasure, fantasy, shame and memory.

The theme “Healing” continues in the industrial ambience of Flutgraben with two performances, which expand the theme over to notions like identity or grief. 

In one sense healing will be approached as a fragile condition that holds the possibilities of both resistance and adaptation by asking whether it is a form of relief, or an irreversible loss of identity. On the other hand, grief will be taken into account as an inseparable part of healing: grief as the condition for healing, grief as what remains after healing, and grief as what keeps us from healing. In two performances we will witness healing as a messy, fluctuating condition in which boundaries become permeable membranes.

Bilgesu Akyürek is a Berlin-based multidisciplinary dance artist and choreographer from Istanbul. Professionally trained in classical ballet, she has developed a self-directed choreographic language that blends technical delicacy with provocative movement and physical risk.

Her practice moves between choreographic movement and acrobatic forms, including pole dance and hair suspension.

Buğra is a Berlin-based artist. His artistic practice is shaped by a transformative year-long journey of reflection, which led him to settle in Berlin three years ago. Buğra’s background in movement began with classical ballet in his youth, later leading him to study Contemporary Dance at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University Istanbul State Conservatory.


While developing his projects in Berlin, Buğra maintains strong creative ties to Istanbul, where he has been directing a theater company for the past three years. Through his pieces, he aims to create spaces that invite viewers to question societal structures, identities and time.
